Waltz With Bashir

Best animated film I’ve seen in a long time.

Not gonna make an extensive review this time cause I didn’t know nothing ’bout the events portrayed on the movie till this afternoon, but I can say that the way the director Ari Folman built up the story was very clever and creative.

Rather than doing a series of video interviews and collecting footage from the war, which probably would make the movie be cataloged as “another political documentary”, the choice for animation turns everything into a beautiful parallelism between dreams and reality, and creates the right intensity for the shock that is unveiled in the last minutes. And of course it received much more attention from the media and a closer look from the critics for this fact.

Great way to show the world the terrific actions that men are capable in times of war.
And also a bottom line note for the soundtrack and sound effects, all very realistic and creating a good immersion  for the viewer in the story.
