Knowing

Nicolas Cage has made some very bad choices in his career, I mean the last good movie I saw starring him was The Weather Man, and that’s from 2005,  but this movie really looked like he was back into something good for a change.

I was wrong. Knowing is a cliché film, the acting is not that good, and the (religious) questions it raises are (un)answered in the worst possible way.
Playing a man that lost his faith and makes a terrible discovery, you see Cage trying to go deep into his character and the movie going the other way. The first half of the movie reminds us of The Number 23, with the paranoia and the numbers thing, and delivers some good moments of entertainment, but then the second half destroys everything and turns the movie into some sort of b-rate apocalyptic flick. Oh and the special effects at the end reminded me of Cloverfield, which is bad, making me also think that the producers must have run out of money in the post-production.

Not recommended if you’re looking for a good movie with a plausible story and good character development, but enjoyable if you’re just trying to spend a few hours eating some homemade popcorns.
